This page explains how to delete your WalletWise account and the data tied to it. You don't need to sign in to read this page.
WalletWise is operated by Bluenex and the app is distributed on Google Play under the package name io.walletwise.app.
The shortest version
Open the WalletWise app → Settings → Delete account → re-enter your password → confirm.
That's it. Once the deletion process completes, your synced account data is removed from our servers and the app signs you out.
Step-by-step inside the app
- Open WalletWise.
- Sign in if you aren't already.
- Tap the Settings tab in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- The app shows a confirmation screen explaining what's about to happen.
- Re-enter your account password (we ask again so an unattended phone can't trigger the deletion).
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
The app calls a server-side function which removes your authentication record and cascades the deletion through every table that holds your data.
What gets deleted
When the deletion completes, the following are removed from our servers:
- Your account (email and hashed password) in our authentication system.
- Your profile (name, monthly income, preferred currency, avatar link).
- All transactions, budgets, budget categories, savings goals, recurring transactions, debts, debt payments, bonuses, allocations, and reminders that belong to you.
- All receipts you saved, including the compressed receipt photos stored in our
receiptsstorage bucket. - Your merchant-to-category preferences.
- Your subscription entitlement record. (See "About your subscription" below for what this does and does not affect on Google's side.)
After deletion finishes, signing in with the same email no longer works — the account is gone, not deactivated. To use WalletWise again you would create a new account from scratch.
What we retain, and for how long
- Authentication and security logs kept by our backend host (Supabase) — for example, sign-in timestamps and IP addresses tied to the deleted account ID — may persist briefly in their infrastructure logs for fraud-prevention and platform security purposes. These are not visible to us as user records.
- Aggregated, non-identifying counts (for example, "how many users were on the free tier last month") may continue to exist after deletion because they are not tied to your identity.
- We do not retain your financial records, your receipts, or your profile after deletion.
Removing data from your phone
The deletion flow above clears the data on our servers. To clear data still cached on the device:
- Sign out (Settings → Logout) if you'd like to keep the app installed but flush the cached session.
- Uninstall the WalletWise app from Android Settings → Apps → WalletWise → Uninstall. Uninstalling removes the on-device app-lock PIN hash, app preferences, cached image links, and any temporary receipt files.
Uninstalling alone does not delete your server-side account — use the in-app Delete account flow first if you want both gone.
About your subscription
Premium subscriptions are billed by Google Play, not by us. Deleting your WalletWise account removes our record of your premium entitlement, but it does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription.
If you have a paid subscription you want to stop, cancel it through Google Play before deleting your account:
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Tap WalletWise → Cancel subscription.
Refund requests for unused subscription time are handled by Google Play, not by us. Our privacy policy has more on how the billing relationship works.
Can't access the app?
If you can't sign in — for example, you've lost access to your email, switched phones, or the app won't open — write to us at:
Please include enough detail for us to confirm you are the account holder. That usually means writing from the email address tied to the account, mentioning roughly when you signed up, or noting any subscription you've purchased. We don't ask for ID documents.
We aim to action verified deletion requests within 30 days.
Where this fits with the rest of our privacy practices
The full picture is in our privacy policy. The short version: WalletWise stores your synced data in Supabase's Singapore region, we don't sell or share your financial data, and your app-lock PIN never leaves your device.
